As staff at St. Dominic School we are
committed to the safety and well-being of our students. Each year we revisit
our practices to offer the best environment. Please note after our last CSCC
meeting we have some changes to our practices for open and closed doors during
the school day.
- The front
door to the school on Dieppe St. will be open all day from 7:30 – 4pm.
- The two
back doors facing the playground will be open at 8:10 am, closed at 9am,
opened for parents at 11:40am, closed again after lunch and reopen at
3:10pm for parents.
- We ask
students arriving late to school to use the front door and report to the
office.
- All
visitors including parents/guardians must enter through the front doors
and report to the office before proceeding to a classroom during class
time.
- We ask parents
or guardians who are on school grounds to please let a staff member know
you are here. Our staff members are wearing orange vests while on
supervision.
- Please
call the school if your child is sick or away for the day.
- Unless
students go home for lunch they are expected to stay on the school grounds
unless under special circumstances a signed note by a parent is provided
to classroom teacher.
- Students
are expected to arrive no earlier than 8:30am unless a coach has requested
an early practice.
- Supervision
outside will occur at 8:35 am unless wind chill temperatures or conditions
encourage indoor recess. Indoor supervision will begin at 8:30am.
- Please
complete emergency forms at start of year and contact the office for
changes to phone numbers occurring during the year.
- Following
dismissal at noon hour or at the end of the day we ask that students do
the following:
- Walk
with a friend or group of friends
- Go
directly home or to child care provider
- Be aware
of their surroundings and who is nearby
- Please
contact the school if you have any questions.
